1. General
These terms and conditions apply to trips and other travel services booked with Sp/F Ferðir.fo, both via ferdir.fo and by booking directly with us.
Ferðir.fo organises, among other things, football trips, business trips, group trips and other tailor-made trips.
The specific trip description, offer and booking confirmation form part of the agreement between Ferðir.fo and the customer. If special terms in an offer or booking confirmation differ from these general terms and conditions, the special terms apply to the relevant booking.
Mandatory rights that the customer has under applicable law are not restricted by these terms.
2. Booking and agreement
A booking is binding once the customer has received a written booking confirmation from Ferðir.fo, and any deposit or other required payment has been paid within the set deadline.
The customer is responsible for checking that names, travel dates, travellers, hotel, events and other information in the booking confirmation are correct.
When booking on behalf of several travellers, the person making the booking is responsible for providing us with the necessary information about all travellers and for ensuring that they are informed of the relevant booking terms.
3. Prices and payment
The price and what is included will be stated in the trip description, the offer or the booking confirmation.
Prices for private customers are stated as a total price including the required fees and charges known to Ferðir.fo, unless otherwise clearly specified.
The payment plan may vary from trip to trip. For example, a deposit may be required at booking with the balance due later. Amounts and payment deadlines are always stated in the booking or the offer.
Unless otherwise agreed, the full trip must be paid no later than 30 days before departure.
If payment is not received within the set deadline, Ferðir.fo may, after a reminder, cancel the booking. Any loss and cancellation fee will then be handled according to the cancellation terms below.
4. What is included
What is included in a trip is described in detail in the offer or the booking confirmation.
It may, among other things, be:
- travel tickets and transport
- accommodation
- tickets to matches, concerts or other events
- bus transport or other local transport
- meals
- tour guide
- excursions and activities
- other services mentioned in the booking
Services not mentioned as included are not part of the price.
5. Flights, transport and accommodation
Ferðir.fo works with airlines, hotels, transport companies and other subcontractors.
Travel times, flight times and other times may be changed by subcontractors. The customer should therefore check the final travel information before departure.
Regarding baggage, check-in, seating and other conditions of airlines and transport providers, the relevant provider's terms also apply.
If changes or cancellations by a subcontractor affect the trip, Ferðir.fo will help the customer find a suitable solution to the extent possible.
6. Tickets and events
Dates and times for football matches, concerts and other events may be changed by the organiser, broadcaster, league, club or other external party.
The stated match date or time may therefore be provisional until the final schedule is confirmed by the organiser.
Ferðir.fo has no control over such changes, but will do its best to adjust the trip if the change affects the booking.
If an event is definitively cancelled and no suitable alternative solution is available, the customer will be reimbursed for the part of the booking not delivered, in accordance with the specific circumstances and any refund from the subcontractor.
A specific block, section, category or seat at a stadium or other venue is only guaranteed if this is stated in writing in the booking. Ferðir.fo cannot guarantee that a larger group will be seated together unless this has been specifically agreed.
7. Cancellation by the customer
The customer may cancel the trip by written notice to ferdir@ferdir.fo.
Unless other cancellation terms are specified for the particular trip, the following terms apply:
Upon cancellation, Ferðir.fo retains a cancellation fee, calculated from the total trip price:
- More than 30 days before departure: Ferðir.fo retains 20%, and the customer receives 80% back.
- 15–30 days before departure: Ferðir.fo retains 50%, and the customer receives 50% back.
- Less than 15 days before departure: Ferðir.fo retains 100%, and nothing is refunded.
Certain services, such as flight tickets, tickets and specially booked hotels, may have stricter or entirely non-refundable terms. If this applies, it will be stated in connection with the booking, and these terms may take precedence over the usual cancellation percentages above.
Travel insurance and cancellation insurance are therefore strongly recommended.
8. Name changes and changes to a booking
If the customer wishes to change a name, travel date, hotel, traveller or other detail after the booking has been confirmed, Ferðir.fo must be notified as soon as possible.
We will try to carry out the change, but cannot guarantee that it is possible.
The customer pays any change fee charged by Ferðir.fo, in addition to actual extra costs charged by the airline, hotel, ticket provider or other subcontractor.
Certain travel tickets and event tickets cannot be transferred to another person.
9. Changes by Ferðir.fo
Minor changes to the itinerary may occur, for example regarding times, a hotel of equivalent standard, transport or the order of activities.
If a significant change becomes necessary before departure, Ferðir.fo will notify the customer as soon as possible and try to offer a suitable alternative solution.
If Ferðir.fo cancels the entire trip, the customer will be offered an alternative trip or a refund for the services not delivered.
The customer's rights under mandatory law are always preserved.
10. Unusual and unforeseeable circumstances
Ferðir.fo cannot be held responsible for delays, changes, cancellations or other matters arising from circumstances beyond Ferðir.fo's reasonable control.
This may include, among other things, severe weather, natural disasters, strikes, war, acts of aggression, epidemics, airport closures, decisions by authorities or other similar unusual circumstances.
In such cases, Ferðir.fo will do its best to help the customer and find a reasonable solution.
This provision does not remove the customer's right to a refund or other rights for services not delivered, where such a right follows from the agreement or applicable law.
11. Travel insurance
Travel insurance is not included unless this is specifically stated.
We strongly recommend that all travellers have suitable travel and cancellation insurance, which may, among other things, cover illness, accidents, treatment abroad, repatriation, cancellation and lost or delayed baggage.
It is the customer's responsibility to check what insurance cover they have.
12. Passport, visa and entry requirements
It is the responsibility of each traveller to hold a valid passport and to meet visa, entry, health and other authority requirements in the countries the trip covers.
Ferðir.fo can provide general information, but the customer is responsible for checking the final and current requirements of the relevant authorities.
Ferðir.fo is not liable for any loss resulting from a traveller being unable to travel due to missing or incorrect travel documents, unless the error stems from incorrect information provided by Ferðir.fo itself.
13. Customer's responsibility
The customer must show normal good conduct and follow the rules of hotels, transport providers, organisers and other partners during the trip.
The customer may be held financially liable for damage they themselves cause.
Serious disruptive, threatening or unlawful conduct may result in the person being removed from the trip without a refund for unused services, to the extent this is reasonable and lawful under the circumstances.
14. Liability of Ferðir.fo
Ferðir.fo is responsible for the services that Ferðir.fo itself has committed to provide under the booking.
If problems arise, Ferðir.fo must be given the opportunity to try to remedy the situation.
Ferðir.fo is not liable for loss directly resulting from:
- incorrect or incomplete information from the customer
- actions or negligence by the customer themselves
- circumstances involving a third party unrelated to the delivery of the trip
- unusual and unforeseeable circumstances that Ferðir.fo could not reasonably have prevented
No provision in these terms shall be understood as a limitation of liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
15. Complaints
If a problem occurs during the trip, the customer must contact Ferðir.fo as soon as possible, so that we have the opportunity to help and try to resolve the problem.
After returning home, a written complaint can be sent to ferdir@ferdir.fo.
We recommend that complaints be sent as soon as possible and preferably no later than 14 days after returning home. This does not, however, remove any rights the customer otherwise has under applicable law.
Relevant documents, photos and other evidence should accompany the complaint if they are relevant to the matter.
16. Personal data
Ferðir.fo processes personal data that is necessary to handle bookings, communication and travel services.
Further information about the processing of personal data, retention, disclosure and the customer's rights can be found in our Privacy Policy at ferdir.fo.
17. Business trips and group trips
For tailor-made business and group trips, Ferðir.fo may make a special offer with payment, change and cancellation terms adapted to the specific trip and agreements with subcontractors.
Such special terms provided in writing take precedence over the corresponding clause in these general terms and conditions.
The person booking on behalf of a company, association or group thereby confirms that they have the authority to enter into the agreement on the customer's behalf.
18. Applicable law and disputes
The agreement is governed by Faroese law, unless mandatory rules provide otherwise.
If a dispute arises, Ferðir.fo and the customer will first try to resolve the matter through direct communication.
If no agreement is reached, the matter may be brought before the relevant Faroese authority or court in accordance with the rules applicable to the matter.
19. Changes to the terms and conditions
Ferðir.fo may update these terms and conditions for future bookings.
The terms that applied when a binding booking was made apply to that booking, unless the parties later agree otherwise.
